Chang 'an District Hospital，the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University, was built in July 1949, covering an area of 35.884 mu with a building area of 50004.68 square meters. The hospital receives over 390000 outpatient visits every year, has 337 beds and receives over 14000 inpatients.

It is a Grade Two A Hospital with the collection of medical treatment, scientific research, teaching, preventive health care and other functions.

In 2011, the People's Government of Chang 'an District decided to carry out the overall relocation project of the hospital to the west. The project expropriated 99 mu of land in the urban area of Guo Du university city with an investment of about 700 million yuan. The construction scale was in accordance with the national standard of tertiary hospitals.
